A life cut short by a drunk driving accident

Pedestrians venture out of their homes in Ohio to run errands, go to work or maybe even just take a walk. No one suspects it will be the last thing the person does. A drunk driver can change the outcome of an errand, a day at work, or a walk in an instant as the result of a drunk driving accident.

A middle-aged man was crossing a street in Sharon Township on a recent evening. He was struck by a car, a Honda Fit, that was traveling south on a local road. The accident happened about 9:30 p.m.

The gentleman who was hit by the car was transported to Medina Hospital where he later died. The driver of the car, a resident of Rittman, was not injured. It is believed that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

When a loved one is taken suddenly in a drunk driving accident in Ohio, feelings of shock and grief can be overwhelming. The thoughts of all involved will at first be with the family and loved ones of the deceased. Understandably, the victim's family and loved ones may want to find answers as to what happened and why. Having a conversation with a knowledgeable personal injury attorney can be a first step in a family's quest for answers. An experienced personal injury attorney can assist those affected by the loss in determining what legal paths are open to them, and a successful claim may result in compensation for medical costs, final expenses and other verifiable losses.
