Whenever drivers of passenger cars have to share the roadways with big rigs, they will be vulnerable. The sheer size of a tractor-trailer leaves occupants of cars with little chance of survival in the event of a collision. Such an auto wreck that involved a car and a large truck recently claimed the lives of a toddler and her parents in Ohio.

According to an accident report, the crash occurred in Preble County on a recent Tuesday. Authorities say a tractor-trailer driver disregarded a red traffic light. Reportedly, it struck two other cars before crashing into the car carrying the parents and the child.

The 3-year-old child and her parents died at the accident scene. The occupants of the other two vehicles that were struck by the truck suffered no injuries, but the tractor-trailer driver was reportedly transported to a hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. Further reports indicated that this couple’s two older children were not in the car with them at the time of the crash.

When lives are lost in an auto wreck in Ohio, the surviving family members may pursue financial relief if the crash resulted from the negligence of another party. Proving negligence could be challenging, but the help of an experienced wrongful death attorney is available. A lawyer can help with the establishment of negligence before the court and assist with documenting the financial losses and emotional damages. With the successful presentation of the claim, a monetary judgment may be entered against the negligent driver.
