One dead after head-on collision in Ohio

Every day, almost every one of us gets behind the wheel of a car to do things like drive to work, run errands, take the kids to school or head out on a road trip. Perhaps it’s because driving has become such an integral and common part of our lives that we take for granted how dangerous it is. We’ve all driven by accidents and seen the reports of fatalities on the highway, and some of us have even been struck personally with a tragedy, but somehow the reality of it never sinks in.

Even if you’re a great driver and you always adhere to the rules of the road, you can’t account for everyone else on the road. People drive recklessly, distracted and drunk all the time. Unfortunately, that ever present danger reared its ugly head again in Ohio recently. A man and his wife were driving down the road in Greene County when a woman driving in the opposite direction crossed over the center line, slamming into the couple head on. The man died at the scene while his wife and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and, at this time, there is word whether drugs, alcohol or distraction played a part in the crash.

Accidents like these serve as a stark reminder of both the fragility of life and the danger of driving. If you’ve been involved in an accident that caused injuries or death, it shouldn’t be up to you to pay for medical bills, funeral costs and rehabilitation. An attorney can look at your case and may be able to help you get compensation.
